Nestled in the heart of the San Juan Mountains, The Tack Shed in Lake City, Colorado, provided a beautiful setting for Jenna & Josif's intimate mountain wedding. Surrounded by breathtaking scenery and the natural beauty of southwestern Colorado, their September 6, 2026 celebration was filled with heartfelt moments, meaningful details, and the joy of celebrating alongside loved ones. It was such an honor to be part of the Kitsas' special day, and I'm so excited to share a glimpse into their beautiful celebration!
Getting Ready
Josif spent the morning of his wedding day getting ready alongside his groomsmen at a nearby Airbnb in Lake City. It was the perfect setting for a relaxed start to the day, filled with good company and anticipation for the celebration ahead. From the final touches of getting dressed to the moments shared with his closest friends, it was such a special part of the day to document!
First Touch
Rather than sharing a traditional first look, Jenna and Josif opted for an intimate first touch and private vow exchange before their ceremony. Without seeing one another, they shared heartfelt promises and a quiet moment together before saying “I do.” One of the sweetest parts of their vow exchange was when Jenna spoke a portion of her vows in Greek, a beautiful and thoughtful surprise for Josif, who is from Greece. It was such a meaningful way to honor his heritage and made an already special moment even more unforgettable!
Before the Ceremony
As guests began arriving at The Tack Shed, the excitement for Jenna and Josif's ceremony continued to build. Having traveled from Indiana to celebrate alongside the couple, their loved ones gathered against the breathtaking Colorado mountain backdrop, eagerly anticipating the celebration ahead. One of the sweetest moments was watching Jenna's mom carefully put the finishing touches on one of the flower girl's hair before the ceremony. It's these little, often unnoticed moments that make a wedding day so special to document!
The Ceremony
With the breathtaking San Juan Mountains and Lake San Cristobal as their backdrop, Jenna and Josif's ceremony was nothing short of beautiful. Their faith was woven so intentionally throughout the celebration, making every moment incredibly meaningful. During the ceremony, they shared communion, joined their guests in a time of worship, and invited their loved ones to gather around them in prayer. It was such a beautiful testament to their faith and the love and support surrounding them as they began their marriage together.
Cocktail Hour
Following the ceremony, guests gathered for cocktail hour to enjoy a selection of traditional Greek bites, including spanakopita, a delicious spinach and feta-filled pastry wrapped in flaky phyllo dough. It was such a thoughtful way to celebrate Josif's Greek heritage and share a little piece of his culture with their loved ones!
Bride & Groom Portraits
With the breathtaking San Juan Mountains and Lake San Cristobal as their backdrop, Jenna and Josif's bride and groom portraits were nothing short of dreamy! Surrounded by the natural beauty of Lake City, Colorado, these two shared some of the sweetest moments together as newlyweds. It's hard to imagine a more stunning setting to capture the beginning of their marriage!
Bride & Bridesmaids
As we took Jenna's portraits with her bridesmaids, a light sprinkle began to fall, adding an unexpected touch of magic to the moment. The soft rain and beautiful mountain scenery created the dreamiest atmosphere for a few creative portraits. Sometimes unexpected weather makes for the most beautiful photographs, and these were no exception!
The Reception
Jenna and Josif's reception was filled with heartfelt moments, sweet treats, and so much love! Guests enjoyed a fun doughnut wall alongside traditional Greek desserts, lovingly prepared by Josif himself. The newlyweds shared their first dance, followed by a sweet father-daughter dance. One of the most unforgettable moments of the evening came when Jenna's mom surprised Josif with a mother-son dance. There wasn't a dry eye in the room as everyone witnessed such a beautiful and meaningful gesture! The couple also shared a traditional cake cutting, adding another sweet memory to an already unforgettable celebration.
Sunset Photos
As the sun began to set over the San Juan Mountains, we snuck away with Jenna & Josif for a few final portraits overlooking the breathtaking Lake San Cristobal. The soft evening light and stunning mountain scenery created the most romantic backdrop for these two to soak in a few quiet moments together as newlyweds. It was such a beautiful way to end their portrait time and capture the magic of their wedding day!
Jenna and Josif's wedding day was such a beautiful reflection of their love, faith, and the people who mean the most to them. It was truly an honor to help document their special day alongside Hannah Shelton Photography and preserve these memories for years to come. Wishing the new Mr. and Mrs. Kitsas a lifetime of love!
